Don’t want to buy a new module? Try a one time recovery of your battery with us once instead.

It Works

• Take a video of your battery lights when you first turn it on, and send it to: support@boostedusa.com  Please also let us know how long it has been since the battery was working properly.  We'll respond letting you know if your battery has the Red Light of Death (RLOD) and if it's a good candidate for recovery.  
  
  

• Purchase the service.  
  
  

• Send us your Battery and ESC controller.  The ESC controller is the component in front of the motors. This will require you to remove the rear trucks and depending on the board, the front trucks.  Send them via traceable means to:

• We will diagnose and attempt to clear the RLD error and recover the battery.  

Before You Buy

• This service is currently only for Boosted Extended Range Batteries showing the RLOD error.  We are working on getting fixes for the Rev and SR batteries in the future.

• Extended Range Batteries without RLOD cannot be repaired.

• Service is non-refundable.

• Service includes diagnosis + responsible recycling if restoration isn’t possible.

Note:  This is not a guaranteed repair.  Some battery cells are too damaged or imbalanced to recover or there might be connection errors that we can not resolve.  

If that is the case, we'll give you two options:

• Recycle the Battery with us:  We charge $10 to help offset the battery disposal fee.  We will send you back your ESC Controller.  
• Have Both your Battery and ESC Controller returned to you:  We will deduct the return shipping fee from your original $100 and refund the remainder.  

Remember to record your battery number.  It is on the underside of the battery and begins with a B. If you have difficulty disconnecting the battery or ESC controller, you may need a set of Chopstick Battery tool.  Sold on our website:

You can also buy the module and remove the error code yourself and should it ever appear again.
